Recommended Retrieve

The JAWLOCK XTREME is designed around a rear-driven zig-zag action that comes alive with forward water flow. 

For optimal performance, allow the lure to sink to the desired depth before beginning the retrieve.

• Slow retrieve: Produces a wide, natural tail kick that closely imitates a wounded baitfish. Light twitches enhance the injured swimming action.

• Moderate retrieve: Creates a controlled side-to-side zig-zag action with strong flash, especially when paired with twitches. When worked near the surface, this retrieve delivers a subtle top-water presentation without excessive splash, ideal for triggering active feeders.

• Fast retrieve: Generates a more aggressive surface disturbance with occasional splash, increasing visibility and reaction strikes from aggressive predators.

•  Sink and pause: After sinking, retrieve at a moderate to fast pace with short, sharp twitches. This produces a rapid zig-zag darting action that mimics a panicked baitfish. Brief pauses allow the lure to flicker and flash before continuing the retrieve.
